A great piece from the Bugle Observer in Woodstock about Cycle to Walk’s first week in New Brunswick.

A young Yukon man on a quest to eradicate polio found plenty of support on his journey through the Upper St. John River Valley last weekend.

As they hit New Brunswick to begin the final leg of the coast-to-coast trek, Remesh Ferris and his Cycle to Walk team discovered many welcoming arms along the Upper Valley.

Journey to fight polio brings hand cyclist to Valley

Here’s a piece from Novanewsnow.com about Cycle to Walk’s upcoming visit to Kentville, Nova Scotia on September 7.

Ann Lockhart of the New Minas Sunrise Rotary Club says Ferris is tentatively scheduled to arrive at the Wandlyn Inn, Coldbrook off Highway 101 at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7.

After he is greeted, she said, local cyclists and runners are invited to travel with him to downtown Kentville. Lockhart expects he will complete the square and head for Memorial Park and some speeches.

Cycle to Walk is a journey of awakening

Cycle to Walk met up with Cindy Redding of the SHIELD Media Group in eastern Ontario:

During a visit to the land of his birth in 2002, Ramesh Ferris witnessed the devastating reality for polio victims who do not have rehabilitative support. The journey opened his eyes and fired an incredible need to help those less fortunate; he made a life decision to bring awareness to the rest of the world, saying, “No person should be doomed to live in dirt.“

Cycle to Walk was welcomed warmly to Lachute, Québec at City Hall on our first day in the province. 

7200 kilomètres! C’est ce qui sépare Victoria de Cape Spear à Terre-Neuve, itinéraire qu’arpentera Ramesh Ferris d’ici le 1er octobre. Un dur défi certes, mais Ferris n’est pas seul dans son voyage. Une petite équipe d’environ cinq personnes planifie et accompagne Ramesh Ferris dans ses déplacements.
