Day 5- Back to Chilliwack, BC

by Ramesh Ferris, posted in Road Updates - Wed, April 16, 2008

Today was my first non-cycling day since the campaign started.
We had two radio interviews in the morning (CBC and CKNW 980 Vancouver), a presentation at Chilliwack Secondary School, and a speech at the Rotary Club of Chilliwack-Fraser.

Thanks to the Rotary Club and C.S.S. for your generous donations! During the presentation I had the opportunity to meet with Ashok Kumar, the Indian Consul-General to Canada!  That was particularly memorable.  Below is a picture of us, Dr. Allon Reddoch, and Gerry Enns, President of Rotary’s Chilliwack-Fraser club.

Tonight the team went for dinner and a gentleman approached us and wished me well, saying he saw the interview on Global television. His grandson Richard was celebrating his 11th Birthday. A big Happy Birthday to you Richard, and as promised, here is the picture that was taken.

Thank-you to my sister Jill and brother-in-law Aaron for welcoming the team into their home during these last couple of days!
