Day 8- Lytton, BC- 44.6kms
- Sat, April 19, 2008
44kms of climbing, head winds, -1 degree weather with a -6 degree wind chill all summed up today’s cycling.
Earlier in the morning before we started to cycle, Allon and Mary Reddoch left to return to Whitehorse. Thanks so much Allon and Mary, you’ve been such a great help with picking up items, route reconnaissance, and preparing home cooked meals in your hotel room for the enroute team.
As the team progressed into the mountains, Yukon friends Glenn and Elaine Hurlburt stopped to visit with the team. Glenn got his bike out and cycled with me for a couple of kms. Thanks Glenn and Elaine for supporting Cycle to Walk, it was great to visit with you.
The enroute team is doing such a great job, everyone is working so hard to get us through the mountains. Chris is working at maximizing media exposure, Lynne is thawing out my legs, feet, and fingers with warm towels, hot water, Doug is checking the oil in the vehicles, tracking the route with GPS, analyzing maps, Bertha is collecting donations, organizing financials for head office, and cooking.
While all this is happening on the road I hear the campaign headquarters remains busy with board meetings, securing corporate sponsorships, arranging community events, and taking in donations.
The most recent corporate sponsorship is from Magna International. Thank-you Magna International for supporting Cycle to Walk!
