This morning the team started off by fueling up the support vehicles – at the crazy price of $149.9 a litre! A large national/international corporation has yet to sign on as a gold spoke sponsor to assist with gasoline. I encourage anyone in a position to help who believes in what Cycle to Walk is doing to contact the campaign office and sign on as a sponsor. Thanks to all of the sponsors that have given so much already. Our reality is that we need more businesses to show their support for a polio free world and sign on as a sponsor with Cycle to Walk.
The team progressed an additional 111 km towards Thunder Bay today, and everybody made sure that we progressed safely.  The only wild animal sighting today was a fox, which was pretty neat.
We crossed into the Eastern Time Zone today! Up in Whitehorse, people refer to “Yukon Time,” which allows for anyone to be a few minutes late for virtually anything. An hour is pushing it, though, so we’ll be careful to ensure all of the clocks, phones and watches we have on the road with us are changed. We’re now a full three hours ahead of campaign headquarters!
Just over 30 km away from Kakabeka Falls is Thunder Bay. I really can’t believe we have made it this far already. Being in this area is like my second home, as here I attended Confederation College, and my father serves as the Anglican Bishop.

I’ve been to this place many times before and there’s always a special feeling in the air. Times have changed since my last visit, but I’ve arrived at Kakabeka Falls with the love of my life – my 27-speed hand cycle and the message of Cycle to Walk.
Hey Thunder Bay, it’s time to get excited. Cycle to Walk is here!
