Training Wrap Up!
- Fri, March 28, 2008
This week has been full of last minute training, packing, and media interviews! I participated in my first television interview with City TV Vancouver this past Monday! The camera person took some video clips as I hand-cycled along the sea wall here in Vancouver. During the taping of the last video clip I was about to hand-cycle towards the reporter and then out of all times the hand-cycle chain broke! After we all laughed about this unexpected chain break, we finished up the interview and then the bike was quickly fixed up by the great staff at Reckless Bike Store on Fir Street.
Yesterday my sister Jill drove in from the Abbotsford area and picked up some of my personal belongings I will need for the journey, as well as 2 of the 3 hand-cycles. Jill will bring these items over to Victoria when she and her family arrive for the official launch April 12th.
Today I swam 104 lengths, non-stop of the 50 metre Olympic pool at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre. This equals approximately 5.5kms and I completed this in 1hr and 23min. I’m so excited about the start of the Cycle to Walk, and I feel mentally and physically prepared to take on the task of hand-cycling 7200kms across our beautiful Country!!
Take Care Everyone and Thank-you for your continued support, and participation in the Cycle to Walk!
