Day 149 - Canning, Nova Scotia - Non-Cycling (Tropical Storm Hanna)

by Ramesh Ferris, posted in Road Updates - Sun, September 7, 2008

imageToday was only the third day over the course of this campaign that we’ve been grounded because of weather. I thinking that the remnants of a hurricane are good enough reasons not to be on the road cycling.

Today’s weather brought heavy rain, thick fog, strong winds and thunderstorms to the area today. It was wonderful to have a comfortable and homey place to relax. I’d like to thank Doug and Joanne Linzey for graciously opening up their home to the team. I must have really felt at home too – because I really just crashed today. I took not one, but two naps. Fear not though: I didn’t miss any of Doug’s gourmet meals!

In the afternoon Doug Ayers and I went to visit with some of the Rotarians who will be hosting the team at their weekly meeting tomorrow morning. The storm continued to do its thing throughout the day and it just threw the rain at us. Fortunately, it appears as though the storm passed by the end of the day.

Tomorrow we’ll be rolling once again – once we drive back to Paradise.
