Day 151 - Meeting with the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia
- Tue, September 9, 2008
Today was a special day, as the team was able to meet with the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia, the Honourable Mayann E. Francis.
Her Honour was so supportive of the Cycle to Walk campaign. She took the time to speak with each team member and discover how we all became involved with Cycle to Walk. Afterwards, we sat down and shared some of the highlights of our trip. Everybody seemed to mention something different, and it struck me again – as it does from time to time – just how fantastic a voyage this has been.
Her Honour wished us well and thanked the team for our hard work and dedication towards educating Canadians about polio and campaigning for a polio-free world. Her Honour provided us each with a candle with the scent of mayflower – Nova Scotia’s provincial flower. She then invited the Cycle to Walk team to sign her guest book.
It means a lot to all of us on the road and to the team back home that the Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia took the time to hear the message of Cycle to Walk. Thanks so much, Your Honour, for showing your support for a polio free world!
