Thank you, Yukoners, for your support!

I can not write everything that could truly capture my emotions of the events which occurred today! I’m so proud to call myself a Yukoner, and to have received so many words of encouragement today, it truly has touched my heart!

I leave Whitehorse tonight for Victoria at 6:30pm and I’m now armed with courage, love, support, and even more determination than ever as I know that the Yukon is completely behind Cycle to Walk.

I continue to replay the joyous events that unfolded earlier in the day; walking from #41 Firth Road to that very fire hydrant that originally took me 45 minutes to walk to when I first learned to walk at 3.5 years, Riding with Grey Mountain Primary School Students, being greeted by hundreds of students from Christ the King and Golden Horn Elementary, the RCMP Red Serge, Being piped in by Midnight Sun Bag Pipers, Support by Premier Dennis Fentie, Minister Brad Cathers and other Government officials, the wonderful celebration and showing of support at the main YTG building, the RCMP escort, and riding with Vanier High School and Wood Street School students up to the airport.

I’m honored to call my hometown Whitehorse and I thank everyone for showing so much support for the Cycle to Walk campaign. A big thank-you to Renee Mills, Val Royale, Cycle to Walk Board of Directors, and all of the volunteers, teachers, who worked so hard to make the ceremonial start such a special day for me!

Now off to Victoria to share the message of Cycle to Walk!
