Going through rehabilitation can be painful, depressing, and lonely, and sometimes it’s hard to put on a smile. Today we visited Canada’s largest children’s rehabilitation centre, Bloorview Kids Rehab, and were greeted by many smiling faces. Andrea, the organization’s communications coordinator, worked with the Cycle to Walk team to ensure that we could share our message with some of the kids and staff.

I really enjoyed speaking with everyone today. I enjoy sharing my own story of going through the rehabilitation process. It’s possible to overcome obstacles and achieve dreams when one maintains a positive attitude and is determined. After a short hand cycle demonstration in the facility gymnasium, it was time for us to leave the Toronto area after several days of wonderful events and community awareness about polio eradication, education, and rehabilitation. Thank you so much to the people of Toronto for supporting Cycle to Walk!
