Today started with an opportunity to speak with Sandi Coleman of CBC Radio up in Whitehorse on A New Day. I really enjoy updating Yukoners on the Cycle to Walk. There’s so much support from my home territory, and it means a lot to me. Thanks, Yukon!

Shortly after, I had to go buy a supportive walking boot, which I will need to use for the next several weeks. It’s so nice to have that cast off! My ankle is feeling much better.

If the City of Brandon had not heard of Cycle to Walk before, that changed today! Thanks to Constable Greg Anderson and fellow officers of the Brandon Police Service for escorting the Cycle to Walk team to City Hall where we were warmly welcomed by Mayor Dave Burgess, Rotarians and other members of the community. Thanks to Brandon Rotary Club President Sarah Klym for providing Cycle to Walk with a donation on behalf of her club today. I’d like to send out another big thank you to Rotarian Barry Hartley for arranging the police escort and the visit with Mayor Burgess, as well as for such enthusiastic support Cycle to Walk.

Representatives from nearly all Brandon media outlets were out in full force to cover Cycle to Walk today. After our meeting with Mayor Burgess and Rotarians at City Hall, I was whisked away to CKX studios for a live TV interview on the Noon Show with Karen Chrest and a radio interview with Angela Greig shortly after. Thanks to everyone for coming out and for helping the team spread the message of polio eradication, education, and rehabilitation. The team is now rested, and ready to roll east towards Winnipeg!

For anyone interested in sending the team off tomorrow, we will be leaving the Husky Gas Station at 9 am.

Thanks to everyone in Brandon for your warm welcome, and for supporting Cycle to Walk.
