I’m always amazed by the number of cars that can be pulled by a train—at least this was my thought as I lay in bed at 5am this morning listening to a train roaring through the community of Barriere. Today the team advanced about 50kms into a community called Clearwater. It wasn’t as hot in temperature today as yesterday but the support from people on the road was just as great.

As we refueled the support vehicles in Little Fort, people took the time to stop, talk, and donate to the cause.  A family from Kamloops who heard about the campaign in the news provided us with a donation and wished us well.  Honks and waves continued through the day. A polio survivor stood by the side of the street and explained to me his own experience with polio.

At about mid-morning we had to stop for three elk crossing the road. I also saw 2 donkeys—they weren’t crossing the road but I thought it would be worth mentioning.

This afternoon, Bertha and Lynne cooked up some side shoulder pizzas in the motor home oven. I call them side shoulder pizzas because we literally ate them on the side of the road during our lunch break.

It’s so nice to have the support of Bertha, Doug, Lynne and Chris. Everyone has made some huge personal scarifies in order to spread the message of Cycle to Walk. I want to thank all of the family members of each enroute team member for lending your loved ones. I very much appreciate it and I know they’ve been busy talking about you.
