Today the en-route team celebrated “Glad We’re Not Ramesh Day.” Why the celebration, you ask?  Well, today it was pouring rain, we reached the snow line, the road shoulders were dangerous, and to top it all off, there was a 765 metre climb to the top of Messier Summit.

We made it just past Blue River, which is a small town on the South Yellowhead Highway most famous for Mike Wiegele’s Heli-Ski operation.  It’s a friendly place, and people are both interested and supportive of Cycle to Walk.

If people were to judge me by how much I’m eating now, they would probably think I’m pregnant. It’s amazing how food truly is fuel for your body. Food items such as oatmeal, bananas, protein bars, cashews, and Gatorade – coupled with all the support from the en-route team – are things that help me climb these intense grades. Our total elevation since leaving Mile Zero in Victoria is now well over 2,000 feet.

And I have some more good news:  The Cycle to Walk dog fan club is growing!  Below is a picture of Lady and me.  Tomorrow, we head further into the mountains!
