Day 2 - Fort Langley- 50.1kms

by Ramesh Ferris, posted in Road Updates - Sun, April 13, 2008

The team started today at the Tsawwassen ferry terminal parking lot and was greeted by Rotarians from both Whitehorse and Vancouver.
Monte Worthington piloted the team through the busy roads into Fort Langley with his Shaw cable van.

It was a beautiful day for cycling, some great up hills and fast down hills. As we were crossing a railroad track the GPS unit fell off the hand-cycle, so we now have it secured.

There was a wonderful reception of people cheering and clapping and church bells ringing as the team approached the Parish of St. George’s Anglican Church. A fund raising dinner was put on by Rev. Pam Worthington and the Parish of St. Georges, thank you so much for all your kindness and support of the Cycle to Walk.

Thank you also to Karen and Patrick Saunders for opening up your home and allowing the whole team to stay at your place.

During the dinner a gentleman told me they had spaghetti as the main dish because pasta makes you fasta!
