“After John Sayer retired, he was looking for a new purpose. Little did he know that watching a small child playing with a pen would make him instrumental in changing that child’s life.”
John Sayer volunteered at Families for Children Orphanage and cared for one-year-old Ramesh in India.

“Hand-cyclist Ramesh Ferris received a warm welcome in Owen Sound this morning.
Ferris is cycling across Canada in the “Cycle to Walk” campaign to eradicate polio from the planet.
About 25 people turned out to greet Ferris on the front steps of City Hall.”

The 28-year-old polio survivor is hand cycling across Canada this year as part of the Cycle to Walk campaign – a fundraising and public education initiative geared to bring polio back to the forefront of people’s minds.”
